India’s fast growing low cost carrier launched their self-funded cadet pilot program, the Akasa SkyCadet Pilot Training Program, a structured self-funded pathway delivering ground school, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) flight training, and Boeing 737 MAX type rating.
Flight training is done at Indian flight school’s:
- Skynex Aero at Jalgaon, Maharashtra
- Dunes Aviation Academy at Bhavnagar, Gujarat
The program is structured across three phases:
- 4-month ground school
- 18 months of CPL flight training
- 2-month Boeing 737 MAX type rating
Total program cost is approximately USD 111,000 (estimated cost ranges from ₹97.4 lakh to ₹1.06 crore) with the program self-funded by candidates.
